In mild to moderate cases of psoriasis, steroid creams and topical ointments can be used. For psoriasis that is quite extensive, the so-called photochemotherapy treatment is administered, which is a combination of medication and predisposition to UVA. In cases where psoriasis has become severe, methotrexate either in injection or pill form is used to lessen the symptoms.
