A global marketing campaign has seen David Villa be the latest to join an all star cast in an advert for the Adidas Micoach. The world cup winner stars in a 60 second advertisement along with a lot of British sport stars like the heptathlon world champion Jessica Ennis and tennis star Andy Murray.
The advert is just a small bit of the campaign which will also feature PR, a point of sale and a media social campaign appearing on their Facebook and Twitter pages. The micoach claims to make people better at their given sport, it does this by effectively becoming your own personal trainer which talks to you and motivates you. It allows for different training routines to be downloaded to sports specific training plans and also includes work out calendars, navigators and work out feedback to all help with your goals.
The app syncs with the website Micoach.com and you can download personal training programmes for sports such as running, football, tennis and basketball. It allows the user to download or tailor make conditioning programmes to help improve, the Micoach also offers the voices of your favourite sports stars to encourage you whilst you train.
Unlike their usual launches of specific sport equipment like Adidas predators, Adidas are very keen to show the diversity of the item by encouraging all different types of sports to use this app. The advert includes a rugby world cup winner, NBA hall of famer, a cycling champion and the 3 aforementioned.
"People want apps that are useful and that can help improve their lives. The adidas miCoach app delivers on both fronts, putting it miles ahead of most branded apps. The fact that this is the first one that can be personalised based on your athletic goals makes it even more effective as a training tool."
"This spot launches our latest technology to help sporting enthusiasts 'Be Better'. miCoach is coaching made simple," said Marketing Director for adidas UK, Nick Craggs.
