When it comes to installing a new dishwasher, you need not to hire a plumber for this. It is very easy and you can do it yourself. You just have to follow the following steps. However, before you start, make sure that you have few tools like screwdriver, multimeter, slip-joint pliers, needle-nose pliers and adjustable wrench.

Now we will learn step by step that how a new dishwasher should be installed. It is very obvious that you need to remove your old dishwasher before installing a new one but make sure that you clean the place before installing the new one.

Start with positioning new dishwasher and connecting the drain hose with a compression clamp. With the help of Teflon tape, you need to wrap the water line connection. Now attach a 90-degree brass fitting to connect the water line, it is called as dishwasher 90.

Make the adjustment of front legs in a way that you can easily slide the unit at its destined location. You also need to slide the drain hose under the sink.

Connect the water line underneath the dishwasher and pass the electric cable through the sleeve on the dishwasher. Tight the same so that the cable could not be pulled out. Now make all the connections of the wire: ground wire to the green screw, white wire to white screw and black wire to black screw. Use wire nuts to secure the connection.

Now you need to connect new drain hose. Fill the water line with hot water by opening the hot water valve. First of all check your system against any leaks. If your system is leaking then you need to check all of your connections again. In case there is no leakage in your system then you can go further.

Front legs of the dishwasher should be adjusted and positioned on a level. Now using small mounting screws, you need to attach the dishwasher to the counter top. After this you can start the water supply as well as power supply.

These are some simple steps for installing a dishwasher on your own. The most important step where you need to be very careful is setting up electrical connections. While doing it, turn off the main power supply.
